My history
The beginning – May 2007 During a visit to my grandparents I took some pictures while enjoying the summer afternoon with the family. I was surprised how beautiful those pictures were and I started creating more. Couple of them ended on my pc as wallpaper. That is where it began experimenting with a camera.
New York – April 2008 When preparing for my city trip to New York I saw a good opportunity to buy a DSLR camera. Some months before I took couple of pictures with my co-worker’s Canon EOS 400D camera. When comparing the entry models, Canon 400D was a good choice to start with.
Workshop – January 2009 In the first months having my 400D I only used the automatic scene options and when becoming 29 my wife saw a good reason to offer me “digital photography” workshop from
Sonja van Driel. Within some weeks the workshop was scheduled. I was very excited going there. Aperture, shutter and other basics were discussed. After two hours of listening and discussing we started photographing and used what we just learned.
Studio Photography – January 2010 With a friend Virgil Verloop we started a 14 week course called “studio photography”. In the beginning I had my doubts if the course was something I wanted to do. Soon I started to learn the people, our trainer
Roel Kimpe and all new things. Most important I learned is that you need to be active in photographing, learn my camera and look at others work.
Portrait Photography – October 2011 I really enjoyed the workshop at
Monart Studio in Rotterdam. With my 7D I took some nice shots and learned a lot. The focus was not the camera and settings but more on how to work with people, light and composition.
